The water heater shows E4, what should we do?
For modern families, daily hot water is mainly obtained through water heaters, whether it is solar water heaters or electric water heaters, especially in winter, when it is used more frequently. Many families have encountered this problem when using water heaters, that is, the water heater displays E4 and then cannot heat it properly. So what should we do in this situation?
First of all, we need to understand what the water heater means by displaying E4. E4 represents a fault code. We can generally understand its meaning by consulting the manual that comes with the water heater. Another method is to inquire through the official website of the brand of water heater. Under normal circumstances, the fault codes displayed by different brands of water heaters have different meanings, but some common codes have roughly the same meanings. E4 is the common code, and the meaning expressed is generallyHigh temperature alarm.
After understanding the meaning of E4, we need to analyze what caused the high temperature alarm. The reasons why high temperature alarms are generally caused are as follows.
1. The temperature measuring probe connected to the temperature sensor is contaminated with a lot of dirt, which prevents the correct water temperature from being measured. The temperature sensor transmits the wrong water temperature information to the main control board, and E4 will be displayed on the display panel. If this is the case, you need to disassemble the housing, check and clean the temperature sensor and probe, and then restart the machine to see if this situation will still occur.
Second, the exchanger has poor contact. This situation will also cause the display panel to display E4. It will also be necessary to disassemble the housing and check whether there is any problem with the wiring of the contactor.
Third, the motherboard failed. If the water heater is damaged due to excessive power supply voltage or excessive current, causing damage to an electronic component on the motherboard, usually a capacitor, an E4 alarm will also appear. If the motherboard or capacitor is damaged and maintenance is troublesome, it is generally recommended to replace it with a new motherboard.
In addition to the above reasons, if the voltage is unstable and the power cord is in poor contact, an E4 alarm may also occur. The specific situation still depends on the maintenance results.
