How to set up Tenda wireless router (Windows 8)
This article introduces the method of installing and setting up Tengda wireless router under Windows 8. A brand new Tengda wireless router needs to go through the following three configuration steps to complete installation and Internet setting up under Windows 8 computers:1. Install the router;2. Configure the computer IP;3. Configure the router。This article will use the Tengda N300 wireless router as an example to demonstrate how to install and configure a router.
Step 1: Install the router
1. Telephone line Internet users: Prepare2One network cable, one network cable is used to connect ADSL Modem(Cat) and Tengda N300 routerWANPort; another network cable is connected to any interface in the Tengda router’s LAN port (1/2/3/4) at one end, and connected to a Windows 8 computer at the other end.
2. Household cable users: You only need to prepare a network cable, and first plug the network cable connected by the broadband operator to your home into the network of the Tengda N300 router.WANPort; then connect one end of the network cable you prepared to any of the LAN ports (1/2/3/4) of the Tenda router, and the other end to a Windows 8 computer.
Step 2: Configure the computer IP
1. Open the Control Panel: Click Settings–Click Control Panel”
2. Click on the Internet and Internet”
3. Click on the Network and Sharing Center”
4. Click Change Adapter Settings.
5. Right-click on Ethernet-click Properties.
6. Right-click Ethernet to select Properties and select Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) Click Properties (or double-click Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)”)。
7. Check the options to automatically obtain ip addresses and automatically obtain DNS server addresses and click OK”
Step 3: Configure the router
1. Enter: 192.168.0.1 in the browser’s address bar and press the Enter key—Enter the password in the page you jump to: admin —Click OK.(If 192.168.0.1 cannot be opened, please read the article:Solution to the Tenda wireless router 192.168.0.1 that cannot be opened)
2. Select ADSL dialing—-fill in the Internet account number and Internet password (which is the broadband account number and password provided by the broadband operator)—-Set a wireless password and click OK. The setting steps are as shown in the following figure:
3. Click Advanced Settings—-in the system state, check whether it shows whether it is connected and whether there is IP address and other information. If it does, it means that the setting has been successful, and computers, mobile phones and other terminals can share the Internet through the Tengda N300 router; if it shows No connection, it means that there is a problem with the configuration. Please check the relevant configuration.
Friendly reminder:After the configuration is completed, the Windows 8 computer connected to the Tengda router can directly access the Internet, and there is no need to make a dial-up connection on the Windows 8 computer.
